Dr. Hill is a Core Faculty Member with Harnett Health Family Medicine Residency Program. She is a graduate of the Campbell University School of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her residency at the Harnett Health Family Medicine Residency Program.
Past President: Jordan Wong, DO
Dr. Wong is a employed with UNC Primary Care in Smithfield. He completed his residency at the Sampson Medical Regional Medical Center. In recent years, he has served in several roles at the ACOFP including the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Task Force (now Advisory Group), Resident Council, Editorial Committee, as a reviewer for Osteopathic Family Physician, and as Resident Governor on the Board of Governors. He is a graduate of the Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine, Pikeville, Kentucky.
President-elect: Tara Frankhouser, DO
Dr. Frankhouser is a family physician at Piedmont Healthcare. She has practiced in North Carolina as a family physician since 2015 during which time she as precepted aspiring DO pre-medical students as well as medical students. Dr. Frankhouser serves the chair of the primary care department at Piedmont Healthcare and the group’s quality committee, focusing on value based, quality care for our patients and community. She earned her medical degree at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Frankhouser has a particular interest in postpartum depression, dedicating her expertise to supporting mothers through this challenging period.
Vice President: Elec Atkinson, DO
Dr. Atkinson is employed with Novant Health Midtown Family Medicine in Charlotte. He earned his medical degree at the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his residency programs in Neuromuscular Medicine at the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (2024) and in Family Medicine at Novant Health Family Medicine Residency Program in Charlette (2023).
Secretary-Treasurer: Anthony (Tony) Elkins, DO
Dr. Elkins is a graduate of the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine and is Board certified in Family Medicine. He is employed with Iredell Primary Care, in Mooresville. He specializes in family medicine and musculoskeletal medicine. Dr. Elkins was awarded the NCS-ACOFP Physician of the Year Award in 2023.
Membership Chairperson: Meghan Hubbard, DO
Dr. Hubbard is a faculty member and physician with the Harnett Health Family Medicine Residency Program. In addition, she serves as a Physician Provider at the Morse Clinic of Dunn (Medication Assisted Treatment Facility for Opioid Use Disorder). She received her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Member at Large: Bonnie Page, DO
Dr. Page is a family medicine physician at Cape Fear Valley Primary Care Lillington. She is also adjunct faculty for Campbell University School of Osteopathic Medicine and the Harnett Health Family Medicine Residency Program. She graduated from Campbell University School of Osteopathic Medicine and Harnett Health Family Medicine Residency Program.
Member at Large: Tony Li, DO
Dr. Li is currently a Family Medicine Physician working in Asheville under Haywood Regional and the Director of Student Medical Education (DSME) for VCOM Asheville Campus. He graduated from Campbell University School of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his residency at Spartanburg Family Medicine Residency. He is board certified in Family Medicine and OMT.
Resident Representative: Daniel Van Rooyen, DO
Dr. Daniel van Rooyen is a Family Medicine resident at Harnett Health and a graduate of Campbell University School of Osteopathic Medicine. His interests include comprehensive family medicine, Addiction Medicine, and caring for rural and underserved communities. As Resident Representative, he is passionate about advocating for residents and the future of osteopathic medicine in North Carolina.
Chairperson Dept Family Medicine, CUSOM: Robert Agnello, DO
Robert N. Agnello, DO, MHPE, FACOFP, FAAFP, is Chair of Family Medicine and Assistant Professor at the Campbell University School of Osteopathic Medicine (CUSOM), specializing in integrative pain management. Board-certified in family medicine and pain medicine, he holds certifications in medical acupuncture and is an active instructor in battlefield acupuncture.
With over 20 years of experience, including service at Womack Army Medical Center, Dr. Agnello leads education and research on chronic pain care. He is the Chair of Family Medicine for the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners (NBOME) and the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians (ACOFP) CME Advisory Committee. Dr. Agnello has served twice as President of the NCS-ACOFP (2012-2013 and 2022-2023).
Trustee Emeritus: Barbara Walker, DO
Dr. Walker received her D.O. degree from the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific (COMP), completed her Residency in Family Medicine at Womack Army Community Hospital, completed a Faculty Development in Family Medicine Fellowship at University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, and received a Doctor of Sciences Honoris Causa degree from Campbell University in 2011.
She retired from the United States Army as a full Colonel in 2006 after more than 25 years of service. Dr. Walker was one of the three founding physician faculty at the Family Medicine Residency in Wilmington, North Carolina and later established this as an American Osteopathic Association approved program. She has served as President of the North Carolina Osteopathic Medical Association, as a member of the AOA Board of Trustees, and the NC Medical Board.
CUSOM Student Representative: Jackson Glover
Jackson Glover, OMS-2 currently serves as the Vice President for CUSOM’s Family Medicine Interest Group. Hailing from Clinton, NC, Jackson is passionate about community-based primary care and is highly motivated to promote interest in the diverse career opportunities found in family medicine. He plans to practice in North Carolina following his medical training.
Executive Director: Breta Stroud
With more than 24 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, Breta brings a wealth of leadership experience, strategic development expertise, and a lifelong commitment to strengthening communities. Throughout her career, she has held key leadership and advancement roles with a diverse range of organizations, including serving as Executive Director of the Highlands Literacy Council and Director of Development for the Friends of the North Carolina Maritime Museum in Beaufort. She also served as Assistant Director of Development at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business, where she supported philanthropic initiatives advancing higher education.
Breta holds a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Duke University. She is also a licensed massage and bodywork therapist and is certified in Somatic Experiencing, reflecting her belief in the importance of holistic well-being and integrative approaches to leadership, service, and community impact.
